I use color to question hierarchy as it relates to subjectivity because there are no rules governing its use yet they exist. I also use color as composition, depth, dimension, volume, and absence of color. Color as a reveal and absence of color as concealing veil. Bright colors act as transition spaces- light colors and transparencies act as places to rest and reflect and then continue seeking. Permanent resting spaces of neutral color actively reveal space by sequences and forms that come together, splinter or oppose each other. The work acts as a witness for the viewer.
