The gathered language comes to me but it isn’t mine, it is only mine to translate in the hopes that outside of myself a connection will be made that has nothing to do with me. I act as a translator, transforming an unspoken language into another. Symbol as language, language as symbol. I always curious to see how a gathered language differs for my own experience and for the experience of the viewer. Will disjointed dreams from the collective have a different impact that a series of dreams from one individual? How will it impact the editing process? How will my own bias effect it? How will the work change in my layouts? How will the finished work look? Will the scale, proximity and palette shift? I am approaching this in an open ended way hoping to be impacted. I translated the first video into Spanish, and will soon do other languages as well.
