Skeins, scaffolds, veils, and layers both obscure and reveal, echoing the complexity embedded in every surface. Metallics conceal and illuminate in equal measure—shifting with light and the viewer’s movement, functioning like sculptural sundials whose meanings unfold over time. The work depicts my own feminist language of abstraction challenging a center fixed view and also a hierarchy of color and space. The sensory movement and expansion within a compressed space opens up to new spaces revealed. A shaky center never becomes a center, so it pushes to the edge and back again. Flow but also flux representing transience and infinity. Movement from the body is required and creates transition spaces throughout the year and days as the paintings light shifts when the suns shifts. The work creates a state of flux, a sense of moving forward in time, in motion, but perfectly still.
